The Genesis of Sofia
Sofia Miami is a transformation of a beloved Toronto concept, birthed from the imagination of the talented hospitality team at INK Entertainment Group. “Sofia was created out of a love affair between contemporary art and Italian cuisine,” Chef Abel explained. The aim was to deliver a fusion of first-class hospitality and refined modern Italian fare, carving out a niche for Miami’s discerning diners. Since its launch in November 2022, Sofia has brought its charm and culinary flair to the city.
A Unique Dining Experience
Though Sofia Miami and its Toronto counterpart share the same philosophy and aesthetic designed by Studio Munge, Chef Abel emphasizes the importance of hyperlocal ingredients. “Our menus vary slightly, reflecting what’s seasonal and available in each region,” he noted. This commitment ensures that while recognizable Italian dishes remain, there’s a fresh twist that caters specifically to Miami’s vibrant dining culture.
Passing shoppers are drawn in from the Palm Court portion of the mall by the sight of pink marble, polished chrome and a beautiful tidal wave chandelier installation beneath which sits an inviting outdoor bar that transcends into the restaurant’s interior. The stroll through the outdoor dining tables and umbrellas reminds us of a European vacation as you pass the adjacent shops including BVLGARI and Van Cleef & Arpels. Inside, the glamorous dining room provides a dramatic stage for what promises to be an unforgettable eating experience, characterized by attentive service and an exquisite design that stimulates not just the palate but also the senses.

Sofia’s culinary offerings reflect Chef Abel’s passion for Italian cuisine. “We focus on sourcing the finest quality ingredients, paying homage to authentic flavors,” he shared. Among the standout selections are the antipasti featuring carpaccio di manzo and stracciatella, as well as handmade pastas like cacio e pepe al tartufo and spaghetti nero di seppia. “Our ora king salmone and bistecca alla fiorentina are particularly popular,” he added, showcasing a menu that balances nostalgia with innovation.
Guests often express awe not just for the food, but also the artwork adorning the walls, curated from internationally renowned artists. “Diners are usually blown away by our design and the dynamic art collection, which is an extension of the dining experience,” Chef Abel remarked.

Recently, Sofia introduced an interactive Chef’s Tasting Menu for those willing to embark on a culinary journey. For $95 per person, diners can indulge in a four-course meal that highlights Sofia’s most popular dishes, paired with an optional wine collection, making it a perfect evening for food enthusiasts.
In addition to its fine dining, Sofia embraces the community with an aperitivo-style happy hour during the week and a lively La Bella Notte ladies night every Thursday, featuring live music and enticing drink specials. Furthermore, the restaurant is excited to announce its new weekend brunch offering bottomless spritzes, mimosas, and bellinis accompanied by live DJ sets, solidifying Sofia’s status as a multifaceted dining destination.
